Biography of Undersecretary Dalila Nesci
I was born in Tropea (VV) in 1986. I am a journalist, graduated in Law at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria. I cherish the artistic, natural and human beauties of my homeland, and counter, instead, those who profit at the expense of honest people.
As a Member of the Italian Parliament, representative of the Five-Star Movement in Calabria since 2013, at the age of 26 I dealt with topics such as protecting individual private savings, fighting against bank usury, waste management, protecting citizens who cooperate with the judiciary, anti-mafia actions, freedom of information and, above all, the right to health.
I helped defend associations in Calabria, primarily those threatened by criminality.
I personally inspected almost all Calabrian hospitals, reporting critical issues and irregularities.
Since 2013 I have donated more than 212,000 euros from my own salary to finance small- and medium-sized enterprises and projects that are useful to the community.
I have written more than 3,000 documents including inquiries, complaints, amendments, warnings, and formal notices.
I served as a member of the Social Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies and, since October 2018, also of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into Mafias.
On 1 March 2021, I was sworn in as Undersecretary to the Ministry for Southern Italy and Territorial Cohesion under the Draghi government. I deal with this assignment with enthusiasm and great sense of responsibility to my Country.
